Students in this course will explore financial accounting as a crucial business tool. They will become informed users of financial statement information and, by the end of the course, they will be able to analyze financial statements, footnotes and other corporate disclosures; interpret articles from The Wall Street Journal and other business publications; and understand analyst reports. Coursework also helps students become comfortable with the mechanics of financial accounting so that they will be able to prepare financial statements reflecting a wide range of economic transactions.
Course Level: Appropriate for sophomores and above with no experience in the same subject area.
